Abstract

The berzanji tradition is a cultural heritage that has taken root in Indonesian society, especially among the Bugis tribe. This activity has important spiritual and social values in strengthening relationships and preserving local wisdom. However, the challenges of the times and the lack of regeneration can threaten the sustainability of this tradition. Therefore, it is important to provide assistance and training on berzanji. This report describes the implementation of berzanji training assistance in the Jalan Serai neighborhood, Benteng Village, which aims to increase community knowledge and skills in the berzanji tradition. The training was conducted for 2 months using the methods of lecture, demonstration, hands-on practice, discussion, evaluation, and field practice. The results obtained were an increase in participants' knowledge of the meaning and values of berzanji, skills in reading the book of Barzanji with correct intonation and pronunciation, and a growing enthusiasm to preserve this tradition. The success of this activity was also supported by the participation and enthusiasm of the local community. Recommendations for similar activities in the future include expanding the scope of participants, organizing berzanji performances, building partnerships with cultural institutions, providing guidance modules, and promoting activities through digital media.
